I really like the E-MU and I'm in no hurry to downgrade to a smaller interface or spend hundreds just to get something similar to what I have now. I use CbB with a PCIe E-MU 1820m on my Win7 (圆4) DAW, and if E-MU had Windows 10 drivers, I'd upgrade to that. It might help to think of it as an appliance that you're keeping it around to access your old sessions.Yeah, pretty much this.

That said, if you're set on a new interface and new software, then your best bet might be to build a new computer and retire your current one intact. It might help to think of it as an appliance that you're keeping it around to access your old sessions. Your CPU can certainly limit certain aspects of your DAW but I don't know why it would impact your choice of interface per se. It supports ASIO (the de facto standard driver model for Windows) and-unlike many other DAWs-it also has surprisingly good support for WASAPI and other inbuilt Windows audio protocols.

The only reason I retired it (around 2012) was because my then-current (2008-era) CPU could no longer host even a single instance of a certain plugin, and PCI was no longer native to current-gen chipsets.Ĭakewalk ought to be compatible with basically every interface out there. I used my Delta 1010 rack for well over a decade from the time I bought it new in ~1998. Why are you upgrading? If your Delta 1010LT + PT works for your needs then keep using it! The old M-Audio PCI drivers were solid!
